Carry the Shadows Home: Works from Bridging Landscapes II

Bridging Landscapes II at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery gathers artists whose practices centre movement, memory, ritual, protest and tenderness. Rooted in community, the exhibition moves beyond representation to create spaces of relation—rooms where difference can stand together without being reduced to a single story. From moments of joy at Eid funfairs to portraits of migration, labour and everyday faith, the works explore how we carry histories, what we choose to keep, and how we root again without forgetting where we've come from.

Invited by curator Aisha Zia to support the editing and publishing of this exhibition text, I was delighted to contribute at short notice. In times of political uncertainty, both in the UK and globally, it felt vital to be part of a project that insists on plurality, resilience and joy. It was a privilege to play a role in amplifying such important work.
